Danny De Ponte – Senior Forklift Technician
Danny is one of the steady hands and sharp minds behind SG Equipment’s service team. With nearly three decades in the material handling industry, Danny brings deep technical expertise, problem-solving finesse, and the kind of calm, experienced approach that keeps our customers’ fleets moving.
Danny began his career as an auto electrician, completing both practical training and studies in electrical and electronics. This solid foundation set him up for a natural transition into material handling equipment, where he has spent around 30 years repairing, maintaining, and diagnosing faults across a wide range of machinery.
After relocating from South Africa to New Zealand, Danny joined SG Equipment in January 2019. Since then, he has become a core part of our workshop and field service team, valued for his reliability, technical skill, and willingness to share knowledge with others.
Over the years, Danny has witnessed SG Equipment grow significantly — new faces, new customers, and an expanding fleet. Through it all, he remains committed to delivering high-quality workmanship and ensuring every machine he touches leaves in top condition.
